Parish Renewal Track at the Catechetical Conference - Saturday, August 22
This 3-workshop track is designed for anyone who wants to bring new life and renewed faith to your parish(es). Each workshop explores how Jesus empowered his first disciples to transform our world in the Gospel of Matthew and applies Jesus’ method to our parish context through experiential learning activities you can take back to your parish. Presented by Margaret Rhody.
Parish Renewal 1 - School of Prayer for Busy Leaders
Jesus began his ministry with prayer and taught his disciples to pray. Experience practical prayer exercises that connect you with the Source of parish renewal. Why? Because best laid plans and best resources don’t renew our parishes–the Holy Spirit renews our parishes.
Parish Renewal 2 - Accompaniment Training
Jesus was moved with compassion when he saw we were like sheep without a shepherd. Experiential learning activities prepare you to walk with others, honoring their dignity on the journey from initial encounter with Christ through deepening discipleship. Why? Because if they don’t know that you care, they don’t care what you know (and they won’t join you in the mission).
Parish Renewal 3 - Transformational Ministry Training
Jesus transformed our world by forming and sending disciples on mission. Experience practical tools you can use at your parish(es) for forming Catholic disciples who transform our world. Why? Because programs don’t transform our world, well-formed disciples transform our world.
Welcome to Emmaus 90!
