Dear Friends,
Laetare Sunday always seems to catch my attention. Not because the priests dawn their rose vestments, but it’s a powerful reminder that even in a season marked by repentance and reflection, hope is not on hold—it is already breaking through and we should rejoice!

The readings this week center on themes of light, healing, and new sight. Young people today are navigating a world that can feel confusing, heavy, or even dark at times. Like the man born blind in the Gospel, they are searching—not just for answers, but for meaning, identity, and belonging. They are searching for the light in the darkness. And just as Jesus meets the blind man where he is, without judgment or precondition, we are called to do the same.

Ministry to youth and young adults is not about having all the answers. It’s about creating spaces where young people can encounter Christ personally—where they feel seen, known, and invited into the light. Sometimes that looks like deep conversations; other times it’s simply showing up consistently and listening well.

This week invites us to ask:
  • Who in my ministry might feel lost or unseen, and how can I be a light to them this week?
  • What “blind spots” in my own heart or ministry is God gently trying to reveal?
In Christ,
Andrew Schueller and the Office of Youth & Young Adult Ministry
